Le label berlinois Kitchen Leg Records vient de sortir une nouvelle cassette, celle du duo noise-pop The Shna constitué de Lina Walde et Alma Weber, duo de voix, batterie et guitare basse. Intitulé ironiquement et par jeu de mots Fairytape, référence au "not in your fairy tales" qui ouvre la face B (Fairy Tales).
La face A s'ouvre, elle, en semi-douceur par la chanson Flowers, scie musicale en présence, énergie en alternance, une bonne introduction qui encourage grandement a poursuivre l'écoute. La suite n'est en rien décevante d'ailleurs, zigzagant entre pop bousculée et grunge cru, Fairytape pourrait dater du siècle dernier mais trouve tout à fait sa place dans celui-ci comme remède à la sage consensualité.
L'album contient deux titres live, de quoi se faire une idée de leurs concerts, une formule simple et énergique sans guitare et à deux voix comparable aux Néerlandais Lushus (une basse supplémentaire et dont on a plus de nouvelles) pour ceux qui les ont vu jouer.
The Berlin based label Kitchen Leg Records has just released a new cassette, the one of noise-pop duo The Shna consisting of Lina Walde and Alma Weber, vocal duo, drums and bass guitar. Ironically and by wordplay named Fairytape, referring to "not in your fairy tales" opening the side B (Fairy Tales).
Concerning the side A, it opens with the half-sweet song Flowers, musical saw in presence, alternating energy, a good introduction that highly encourages to go on listening. The rest of of the album is not disappointing at all by the bye, zigzagging between jostled pop and raw grunge, Fairytape could de dated from the last century but fits well in this one as a remedy to wise consensuality.
The album contains two live tracks, enough to get an idea of their concerts, a simple and energetic formula without guitar and with two singers comparable to the Dutch band Lushus (with an extra bass and whom we don't have news about) for those who have seen them play.
